What is the difference between Full NCD protection, step-back NCD protection, no NCD protection?

Having a protected bonus means that you will not lose all that bonus in the event of a claim. For example:

  • Full Protection - this usually means you do not lose any of your no claims bonus even if a single claim is made. (T&Cs apply)
  • None- this usually means you lose all your no claims bonus if any claim is made.
  • Step back Protection - this means that if a claim is made, you would lose part of your no claims discount, but not all of it. For example, if you had a 50% no claims discount, it could be 'stepped back' to 20%. (T&Cs apply).
